Mission accomplished. There are another 4 buds ready to pop. The photo doesn't reveal the true colour. (Apologies for the finger shadow).

The triteleia shoots are in bud too. That's good because mine at home aren't. When they bloom they should be pastel colours.

Good afternoon Sandy Ground my sincere apologies for missing your post :redface:only just seen it my friend,I agree with your excellent post 100% and although I have sometimes under planted my Roses in the garden,I would never give them any competition by under planting in a container, but that is only my personal opinnion

The triteleia bulbs are in full bloom. Apologies for the awkward angle. I didn't take the photo myself.

Looks like this thread was already started. So need your advice in this area. I have had a climbing rose in my garden for a few years its along side a lilac tree. I know it needs to be moved to a sunnier spot. But inventory of that ideal sunny spot is rare. First I bought it years ago to climb on the pergola, but its brother died, so I saved it and moved it. It is alive where its at but not in the best blooming state as limited sun. Anyway----so my question is can I put it in a good size plastic pot and have a trellis in it to climb on. The spot I would have the pot is a good sunny area, however because of the location of the septic tank near that spot it would not be wise for it to have it as final home for it. In the pot should that area need access to I can then move the pot. In the winter I am thinking I could move it to another location where its more out of the winds, protected by the house, and then move it back in the spring. I know the pot would be large, choosing plastic so easier for weight. do you think it would be ok. thanks

Hello Redstar. Yes basically all roses can be grown in pots/containers, however perhaps we need to consider the future success of the plant. I'd go for a square/rectangular shape container preferably say twenty to twenty four inches across and say eighteen inches deep. As with most potted plants, sometimes winter protection is called for, to help avoiding the plastic splitting and/or the soil becoming frozen solid.

You mention, moving the container about. Then I suggest a some sort of platform base for it to stand on with castors, this will facilitate easier moving. Next, being a climber. As you suggest a trellis, now in this case the trellis also may be in the container. This is going to restrict how much you will allow the plant to grow. As a climber it will be greatly restricted due to it's mobility, so careful pruning will be needed. I wish you well with your task.
