    Hello,
    Can you fellow members help myself ,allowing myself to help my neighbour.He has arrived home from holiday with 21 small trees.11 Rowan.11Silver Birch . What is best thing to do,how far apart will I have to plant them and how deep.Do I need any protection around them.I would be grateful of any help,as he wants them to give some shelter around his stables.I will be grateful of any help.

    As far as horses are concerned you would definitely need to protect the young trees. In fact, you'd need to fence them off completely to make sure that they don't get munched.
