Nicola Sturgeon wants to replace Alex Salmond and says if she does there could be another referendum as early as 2016!!! :hate-shocked::runforhills:

She's only got 2 years in office then ... it will be better than 60:40 next time as the additional concessions the main parties plan to make will be in force by then

Why dont we have one every year, until they get the decision they want?

I can see why governments dont really like referendums.

      Well I figure that:

she will lose that, and then they will have to find another leader.

Unfortunately Gordon Brown has said he won't stand as first minister, but I agree he would be a good replacement. Nicola Sturgeon was my son's MSP at his previous address and comparing her to a chocolate fireguard is probably the kindest comparison he would make where she's concerned.

That would require central government to once again agree to a referendum. I can't see them daring to so. Not for fearing of losing to the Scots, but for fear of losing all their already non-existent credibility and really annoying the electorate by wasting too much time and energy pandering to the needs of a sore loser and not enough time and energy on stuff that actually matters, like actually attempting to run a country.

Just back from a super day at Gleneagles watching the last practise for the players before the start of The Ryder Cup. To top what was a great day our "beloved" 1st Minister (Wee Eek) was greeted with a crescendo of boos. Just a pity this wasn't witnessed/heard by the millions of tv watchers, the incident happened before the broadcast to the world's audience started. It showed that not all Scots are completely bonkers wanting Eek to lead us down a path of destruction. Hopefully he'll disappear back to Edinburgh after a less than warm reception and leave us to enjoy a great 3 days of sport without further unwanted appearances.
