    Hi all,

We have a plot of land on the side of our house approx 5m wide by 40m long.
When we bought the property 5 years it was overgrown with weeds, blackberry bushes, a couple of apple trees and general waste/rubble. There was no access to it from the front due to a garage being there and side access meant trailing stuff through the house.
A few months ago we had a driveway build at the front of the house which meant we could take the garage down to access this area. My wife and I done a lot of the clearing ourselves but decided it be best to get someone in to finish off the bigger work. 11156916_374763729389227_1653093520_n.jpg 11156916_374763729389227_1653093520_n.jpg 11156840_374763736055893_1841012352_n.jpg
The area was cleared and leveled, topsoil added and seeded.
I know it's not the best time of year but hopefully we will have a nice area for our 3 and 5 year old boys to play on next year.

Id stay off it for as long as possible and if you have to go on it use boards to walk on. Obviously going on it when frosty is a no no also.

Welcome to GC Iain. :) Although it needs time to establish walking on it only if really necessary is not a problem but try and take a different route each time so that the grass has a chance to recover.

New grass actually benefits from been trodden on as it breaks the stems and encourages further growth. This will also occur when you eventually mow it too. It will take longer to establish this time of year with the fall of temperature.
