Shallots were uprooted accidentally

Yesterday my shallots were uprooted accidentally by gardener when he was cutting grass. The photo is attached. I bought the pack from homebase n sow in March. I think only 6 or 7 bulbs came out n now only 2 are left. As the stems of rest of them are gone is there anything I can do? Also I can't get why only few were grown? Should I have grown more bulbs in April? 4 to 5 shoots have come out if each bulb, does that mean there would ve 4 to 5 onions? That patch seems v empty now before being removed by the gardener but it did not look v full prior to that.

 

I don't think you are going to be getting anything from them to be perfectly honest.
Something has gone wrong early on as what is visible looks very weak.

 

Having seen your postings regarding 'scallions/garlic/shallots' previously, and I do not wish to appear critical, I think you have a fundamental problem in growing these in that space.
Perhaps a more general indication of the situation regarding location/aspect/soil type/previous cultivation(if any ) would give a chance to more fully understand and advise so as to make your efforts more worthwhile.
With this in mind, I suggest that you get organised for next year, doing the preparations we might suggest , this autumn, so as to be ready for sowing in early Spring '26 (Feb/March)
Regarding the existing, i suggest you use whatever you have so as to avoid a 'dead loss'; you have already achieved the first step upon the learning curve.

 

I bought the bulbs. The shallots was written on the pack. Then my gardener sow them in soil may be they were not sowed v deep. I'll try to get more clear ohoto. Bit after he cit the green part I can only see stems. I'll dig to find if there were any bulbs. There was no yellowish part at all on top. Any suggestions are welcome on how to prepate my soil in autumn to prepare for next spring!

 

Go with infradig. Plant them in a furrow the recommended distance apart and do not cover completely with soil. A little tuft should be showing.

 

I'm just wondering about the amount of sunshine that area might be getting, things like onions and shallots really need a good sunny area, maybe with a bit more of a distinction between them and the lawn.
