Ours are a bit whimpy by comparison. We don't bother with a tree, just string the cards, plus these lights in the hall and on the stairs. That plant pot with another matching one, are suspended on chains from the ceiling above the staircase.

Then these on the pergola on the back of the house.

Good value, 300 lights for fifteen quid in Wilkos.

    P1020010.JPG

Mind you we can have these in our back garden on at any time, during the year.

But the red berry lights on a timer are on every night all year round. For the moment the new lights on the other pergola share the same timer.
Nice "twinkling" reflections from the water in our koi pool.

@Doghouse Riley , your lights are beautiful!
I would say, who needs a tree when you've got a garden like that? However....... being a Christmas nut, maybe you could find space for a table top one? :dunno::whistle:

Thanks for the kind words. We have a tree, complete with lights and decorations, but it's been in a box in the loft for twenty years. It'll be staying there!

My wife's into candles, both real scented ones and remote control battery operated ones like these.

        P1000971.JPG

        We've candles everywhere!

What I miss are the Christmas tree lights my parents had when I was a kid. These were mains voltage and quite large, probably pre-war. there were parcels, snowmen, lanterns, angels, Christmas trees, snowflakes etc., but over time they stopped working.

We've over a dozen lights in our garden both mains on the sides of the buildings and low voltage in the Japanese lanterns, the spotlights on the fence on the left hand side of the garden and the fairy lights, all controlled by four switches behind the lounge curtains and not a mains cable in sight.

The solar lghts, all fifteen of them are packed away for the winter.

i noticed tonight that the fairy lights on the pergola next to the pool had several that weren't working. Mind you they've been up there for three years continuously in all weathers and on every night. So I'll get some replacements tomorrow when I do the weekly shop.

That looks absolutely fabulous @shiney . You have double Christmas magic, inside and out!!
Your garden must be such a calm and tranquil place to sit and recharge your batteries at the end of a busy day.:recliner:

star living room.jpg I don't do much. Just a change up of the fire place mantel also to some red nippon also fiddling with placement of lights outside still. But I do hang this star, very easy. Looking forward to January 2 when this is all over with. have one gift for husband, have to find a couple more. but, we both have enough "stuff" . so its all about perishable items only.
