I'll add some blackcurrant juice to it. Any chance of some hobnobs from the GC office @ARMANDII or has @Zigs 'dealt' with those again?

I remember. When a group of tramps....Gentlemen of the Street, would get somewhat excited.
This particular group had setup home under the road at the junction of Gloucester Gate, Parkway and Albany Street. London NW. Strange location but. The Regents canal was blocked off there, so what had previously been a watercourse was now a stinking residence for these gents.
This bye the bye was when I was a traffic cop, and this location was tu us known as 16patrol. Thinking back. IMO some of these tramps might have made top class detectives. Cops, police officers in general would so often turn a blind eye to these folk. Varous reasons. They were reluctant to having a wash, I doubt that many of todays fragrancies would have been powerful enough to eliminate what had by now become their natural odour.

Amazingly, despite our unauthordoxed relationship with them, they soon became aware of us.

I was on motorcycle patrol and parked close to Gloucester Gate. Suddenly. Hello, Micheal me ole lad, can you spare a few coppers . This smelly individual knew my name. How?

Anyway, it was perhaps 1961 and around the festive season. I was requested to give a few coppers. Of course I declined and offered to ignite the breath of this guy. Their tipple in those days consisted of meths and surgical spirit. So my seasonal best wishes to the gentlemen of the streets. Drink up but stand clear of the naked flame.

 

I don't see whats this has got to do with this thread and as a person serving the community you should have more compassion for the people in question,

We don't know the background of these people and they shouldn't be judged in the manner you describe them shame on you.
