    Do they dislike disturbance, or just being given more growing room?

    I want mine to become much bigger "clumps" ... so I am assuming I will have to put up with limited flowering, as I pot them on, until they get big enough to then be pot-bound and root-constrained thereafter

    I probably ought to look on eBay ... I might score a monster plant for a song ... just maybe?!

      Well I think they flower better potbound to some extent, but the amount of flowers per plant depends on how many crowns it has, and just moving it up a couple of pot sizes will get the plant to produce more crowns.
      Once pot bound they dont seem to make much more vegetative growth.
