After my Clerodendrum had taken a couple of frosts back in November and lost all its leaves I lost my nerve and bought it indoors. It immediately burst into bud and the first blooms are opening.

It really is loaded and has over thirty flowering stems.

The Niamniam Various shots today Monday 004.JPG ensies just keeps growing. It has produced spurs from the base and there are flowers forming in the axils too. It's now 20" tall. And I love to pick up a flower head tht has dropped off and feel how COLD it feels to my face. Quite extraordinary - also, there are little grains of sugar on the ends of leaves, honestly.

Take some cuttings and plant them out next year Jenny. Mine went mad this year reaching four feet! Late September I started slicing it up and starting cuttings - the tallest top section cutting is now 30cm, and the stem section cuttings are producing shoots from the old leaf axils.

And this is supposed to be a rare plant! I think I will take a cutting and grow it as a "specimen tree" next Summer.
Fancy a competition as to who can grow the biggest Longk?

Can a LongK be grown from seed, or only from cuttings? :heehee:
