    That's a Hosta, the standard way to propagate is to divide the roots when dormant in the winter/spring.

      By the way Hosta's are not shrubs.
      Shrubs have hard woody stems.
      Hosta's are a perennial.
      As JWK has said... they will die back in the autumn and re appear again in the spring.

        Thank you.........do all Hosta's flower, only I haven't notice this flower before, but to
        me it's the variegated leaves that stand out on this plant and the flower would be a bonus :blue thumb:

        As far as I know they all do. It's not the colouring on yours which stood out for me (although it is beautiful) ... it's the lack of slug or snail damage to those leaves!!! :thud:
