All looking totally spiffing! :hapydancsmil:

Feed them at the same time of day, each day, and they will surface for you :)

You've made a fUntastic job of it all - but then, I wouldn't expect anything less from you ;) - and I'm sure that it will attract all the wild life you could want.

      I miss my pond.

        Thank you M :),

I'm only feeding them fish food occasionally I'm wanting them to feed from what's in the pond, I see them every night going round the rocks so I'm guessing there finding food, there's still lots of little critters in the Belfast sink i keep transferring them into the pond,

Hopefully next few weeks they will be looking after themselves :fingers crossed:.

I've been out and bought a couple more plants some large pebbles and a fish net,

The chap at the garden centre gave me some live food water flea i think ill stick with this, the pellets are going to the bottom and going mouldy, ive only been feeding a few on occasions but obviously too many :wallbanging:

List of plants outside the pond, for my benefit memory like a sieve
          Festuca Blue grass
          Calluna Vulgaris (spring cream)
          Sedum Spathulifolium cape bianco
          Con Brio (Autumn flower heather)
          Schizostylis Coccinea
          Gold Knight (Autumn flower heather)
          Silver Knight (Autumn flower heather)

I need to drill a hole in the liner i want the overflow in a certain place for a few bog plants, its overflowing where I don't want it to atm.

          Oh yeh :doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh:

Sorry, I was using metric timescales. y'know... 100 weeks in a year, 10 days in a week, 10 hours in a day etc. :rolleyespink:   :heehee:

In imperial, 200 weeks is about 4 years (I triple checked this this time :blue thumb:) which is half the price of what I quoted.

The fish have started to come to the top the other one is hiding amongst the roots you can just see him, the one that can be seen was the only one in the tank with a white nose, we have named him Rambo, he was right hard when the frog jumped in he went over and checked him out .

                      Algae,

I did lots of reading on this and how to combat it naturally, I know its common in new ponds and to expect it,

I want some in the pond but don't want it covered, anyhow over a week ago it started to grow, I didn't mind at the time until it started to take over the pound, I put it down to too much nutrients in the water, so i went out and bought the above plants some more oxygenating floating plants and a small bail of hay, you will have used it yourself anyone reading in ?,

I've put them in and after a few days the algae has died back to a sufficient level, hopefully ive found a happy balance time will tell, I will keep the thread updated as time goes by, this is how it looked yesterday clear as a bell.

I used barley straw in my previous garden pond.
Your pond is looking great!
Just one - teeny, weeny - comment: slooooooooooooow down, fella! :heehee: A pond does take a little bit of T.I.M.E. to find its natural balance/establish ;) That applies to algae too ;) It will all find its own balance so that both pond life and plant life will thrive.

Do be cautious about the source of your pond plants though. Some GC's are very canny in "housekeeping" their stock to look healthy and vibrant - when, in fact, they are pulling out pond weed/s by the bucketful! :nonofinger: Not a huge problem if you know what to look for and are prepared to take measures to eradicate it (which you clearly are! ). The proof of the pudding will, most certainly, be *next* Spring ... that is when you will know if you are on top of algae or have a battle on your hands.

Keep up the good work: I'm *very* impressed :love30:
