Day off Tuesday so will continue with my "quest":biggrin:

Have some gravel boards being delivered so will fix them along the base of the back fence to help protect it from the raised bed when it's built, which we should be able to start on the week after next.
New border is finished, with water feature in place. Will post a piccie later on. All beginning to come together.

Crikey! I didn't realise it was so long ago that I last posted on here....
All of the main work has now been completed. We've got the "finished" look we were after.
There's a bit of wasted space down the bottom of the right hand side of the garden, so I have decided to put down a raised bed and try my hand at a bit of self sufficiency veggie growing next year. Friend of mine is going to supply the topsoil to fill it, and I am working on some compost to add.... I'll post a couple of pics up once it gets light lol!!

Finally got my raised bed sorted in a nice sunny spot...all ready for soil and manure being delivered week after next. It's about 12" deep and approx 2.5m x 1.25m
Plan is to start sowing some seeds indoors around March time, nothing too tricky, just a few tomatoes, onions and will try my hand at some runner/broad beans.
As I say, soil and manure going in week after next so it's got a good time to settle over winter.
Do you recommend lining the bottom of the bed with cardboard and a layer of grass cuttings before the mix goes on top?
I have plenty of decent cardboard, just wondered if it's the right thing to do?
              Thanks
              Rob

Your garden is coming together well Rob, but sorry I can't help you with your raised bed question - having no experience of them.

In answer to your question about cardboard I would respectfully say yes it is the right thing to do as that is what I have done with mine
