Snow Watch

This morning 0630.

 

Didn't show up in the picture but there was a snow whirlwind the far side of the field

 

Some nice snowy pics guys! We haven't got any snow here....the suns out but it's cold and very windy.

 

Prob more snow this time than last but not as cold. Some snow flurries earlier this morning but sun is out and warming up fast

 

Needless to say ....don't think I'll be going anywhere in me car today, thats unless the mini east from the beast wind keeps doing a fine job of blowing it all orff for me ...Awww can you see the little footprint looks like a ickle welsh fairy has walked on the windscreen...gawd lummy she must 'ave been freezing as it looks like she was a hopping on one leg bless her

 

There's very little evidence of snow now, just on the top of some patio pots.
I took a chance and baled out of going to play golf as I suspected that it wouldn't have completely cleared on the course and the ground would be very hard. When it's icy you can hit a straight drive down the middle of a fairway then watch it bounce either right or left at 90 degrees on hard uneven ground.

A wise decision as I would have left the house at 8.15am. I got an e-mail at 10.05am to advise that the course was closed due to 'elf n' safety reasons. There's some steep slopes on parts of some fairways and paths.
My wife asked if we hadn't been given the same advice the government jobsworths gave children when it's slippy. "Walk like a penguin."
I replied the greens committee are aware that some of us walk like that anyway, so it would still be considered too dangerous. I'm hoping it'll be OK by Wednesday as we're due for some warmer, dryer, weather.

 

Hip hip hooray, it's finally melting with the sun out. Pulmonaria blue ensign flowers have been frosted off but they should recover like last time

The newspapers are hyping up another beast for the east estimated for Easter weekend, take it with a grain of salt for now

 

blue ensign will shrug off that snow Mark...tough plants indeed.
Come easter any beast will have to contend with much stronger sun so all will be well

We had about 4" to 5" of snow over the weekend. Today is quite sunny so most of snow has gone.

It turned me to painting .... as if we were not cold enough...
