We think alike, Woo!! Everyone needs a quiet place to reflect..........but only on the good things:snork: That is a lovely place to sit and ponder. It's good to know you feeling better enough to post on GC again, believe me, you have been sorely missed by many members and that includes me.

Just to bring you up to date I've planted, last Autumn, your recommended rose "Compassion" on the South side of my Arbour and and another rose "Alchemist" on the North side. Both are starting to flower even though Compassion is still only around 4' tall and "Alchemist" is around 5'. Also another rose that you tempted me with "Oranges and Lemons is in my main border, planted dry root very early Spring, is also starting to flower.

When "Oranges and Lemons" comes into flower I'll post a pic!

Looks nice. I too am thinking about a project for a quiet area for me and the wife at the bottom of the garden by the wildflower area. As there is only 9inches of soil before hitting solid concrete my raised beds for more veg are probably a no go now.
