I have a dwarf bamboo rufa about 6 years old . I presume its OK to split it now ? The clump is as hard as hell . So I am using my SDS drill with a chisel in it to cut a section off !

I use a handsaw (kept for the purpose) for such plants. It has the advantage of not unduly damaging main rootball. :)
