Be understanding guys. Ian Constantinides, founder of St Blaise (which he loved with a passion) has recently died at the very young age of 57 (he was 2 months older than me so its very young). His widow is a wonderful person and loves his work but this does not mean she can pick up where he left off. He cared, but he has died. He would be most embarassed at any financial difficulties that his untimely passing has caused, and believe me he would wish to still be here to continue to plough his furrow.

If there was someone on personal speaking terms with the widow, I wonder if they could persuade her to allow someone else to pick up all current workload for the next few months until she decides what she wants to do with her company. Just maybe, at a time of great loss, she might also be weighed down by the burden of guilt (even though its not her fault) that her late husband's company is going down and she can't stop it. If other companies/contractors could take that load off for a while, you never, she might appreciate it.

Otherwise, is it not just a plain old fashioned case of contacting all your former colleagues that you still have contact with and telling them your idea? In the past (for unrelated reasons) I've actively hunted down people I'd lost contact with years ago, and had success. My philosophy in such matters is that everybody knows something.

I was very sad to hear about Ian's death too. I really liked him, even if he was difficult to work for, he had a great sense of humour.

Everyone that knew him had a tale to tell about him.

Still remember him riding his motorbike inside the Ebeneezer Chapel during a party.

          Hi Michael,
It's always sad when someone leaves us at such a young age (or at any age) but this thread is nearly two years old!

At the time the thread was started Ian was still alive and few people would have known about any illness. Also, according to the link you gave it appears as though the company was no longer his at the time it went into administration.

I'm sure that all of us would wish you to pass on our condolences to the widow.

Sorry, I didn't look at the dates either. I just saw the thread and without looking, assumed it was new.
