Sticky Weed..name please

    Anyone know the name of the Sticky weed that's found in gardens...grows in long stretches and is easy to remove apart from it's sticky...also quite delicate looking...help appreciated. Thanks

    Hi Paradise I assume you mean the one we call sticky buds. It's delicate but try pulling out and the root snaps and what do you have in a few weeks? Yup Sticky buds. Systemic weedkiller fettles it fairly easily.

    Googled sticky weed and cam up with this. Goose Grass, Sticky Weed (Gallium aparine. Graet fun to play with :D

    Yes Same stuff if you are American. See those little 'bobbles'? they are the sticky buds. Which is why we call it 'sticky buds'.

    I know it has lots of names Sam. In fact Kathy's 'pee the bed' I did hear a stronger version of. :D

    piss-en-lit is the French name for dandelion! That was the old herbal use for the dandelion leaves.

    Kathy, as you are from the beautiful north here is a quote from an interesting Scottish guide to plants.
