Dont think I would like to be the one with the job of cutting the grass in pic no 1.
The plants in the paving in pic no2 stand no chance.
pic no3 looks great, liveable and practical. ;)

    Hi Pete
The 3rd one is actually a straight copy of Anne Hathaway's Cottage, built in association with the actual gardeners who tend the place - it was very lovely, colourful & a quintessential English cottage garden - pretty but lots of work (but they have lots of people to do it)
I should imagine the grass in pic 1 would get cut with a hover mower - I saw them doing the snail mound when I went to the Cosmic garden in this way, & that was much, much bigger!
The 2nd pic is a garden for visually impaired people, and had some interesting ideas & sections of perspex with different patterns on to give sighted people an idea of what it would be like to have various impairments.

Gosh only just seen these pics. I am so envious of all you wonderful gardeners out there.I want really nice full colourful borders but what I want and what I acheive are just 2 different things. Wow, thanks folks! - will pass on your thoughts to the team. Didn't realise it was in AG, Steve, thanks for that - will have to see if there are any copies left in the local newsagents (i'ts also in Gardener's World-v small pic with a comment from Diarmuid G) let's hope it persuades people to get into the studying of Horticulture & Garden Design. I about to do the final year of my course, will be sad to finish but I have learned so much, and made some good mates, totally worth the poverty, stress & hard work! :D
