(Independence Day is on telly right now)

In so many sci fi films, the aliens always give us loads of time to work out what to do, and consequently they get sent home with their green extra terrestrial tales between their legs.

Its their own stupid fault. If they have all that capability, then why bother sitting in inside our atmosphere for hours doing nothing? They could sort us out in an instant if they weren't so daft.

And why is it necessary for them to fly slowly past the moon on their approach? Surely that just increases their risk of crashing before they even get here.

And why do they all consider that us human sorts are the top species to talk to/fight with? Ok, so we have the technology, but you can't really call us the dominant species. We're slow and clumsy, and we're massively outnumbered by the likes of ants, termites, spiders and rats. Why don't the aliens engage the termites and ignore us as an insignificant species?

Maybe they have, why would the bees bother to tell us about it.

And even when they don't make all those mistakes they forget that martians have no immunity to earth's bacteria.

I thought it was the mice?
I thought the dolphins left and said goodbye and thanks for the fish?

It was the mice, they would be furious.

Triffids got disolved by seawater as well.

I think I've mentioned before, my wife is an alien. She never tells me anything of any significance.
