Hours,Days, months, years,Its just one big block of time all man made and we still have a certain amount of freedom of choice,it just depends what we all want individually ,material things ect I just require a simple life for a simple Owl,I found the less I wanted the happier and more contented I became;)

Reminds me of a 'saying' on one of my desk calendars some years ago:

"A poor man who is content, makes himself rich."

          So true :dbgrtmb:

Tried to get into a local shopping centre this morning at 10.15am.
Couldn't get near the place, car park was full and cars were queueing in the road.

Total madness, I bet come mid January the places will be deserted.

Yeah, really I was referring to working 7 days as part of a contract.

How do you stay awake in order to do a 36hr shift in one go, I've come across similar in my line of work, but not 36hrs in one go, and always thought it as being counter productive, after about 10 hrs most people tend to less than effective.

Where I used to work they would often get into a panic, taking on work that had deadlines.
They then used to start forcing us to do overtime, mostly only up to 12hrs.

I never found anyone actually doing more work, they mostly just was there longer,:snork: in fact quite a few that refused to do the overtime were doing more work, and getting more done in a day than those that put in the hours.

But obviously those that put in the hours got the bonus at the end, if there was one going.

I think its dependant on what kind of job you are doing as the whether putting in more hours actually constitutes more out put.

image.jpeg Hi @wiseowl we got to the shops early afternoon and managed to get a parking space quiet easily as it was our local retail outlet but we went in two shops and the three items we were looking for were sold out, which didn't go down well and we have come to the conclusion that retailers want us to buy everything on line whereas we like to go and pick up the item and have a good look at it in the flesh so to speak.:snork:

It sounds like you had more of a problem than we did though:sad:

Managed to buy the above item for £14.99 in our local garden center(£25 in John Lewis)and also bought a new weather station reduced from the same place and we also had a £10 off a £30 shop so we picked up those items as a bargain.

I've got to sort out the batteries for the snowman which I have upstairs and it will go on the lounge wall this xmas:smile:

If only someone would invent some sort of compurised system, where shops could list what they sell, and people could choose things via their home computer or smart phone, and then have things delivered right to their home or work.

I can see the flaw in that idea. You'd need to figure out some way to pay. If only someone would invent some sort of convenient sized card with some sort of codes on it, that people could pass onto the computerised shops, giving them info they need to debit the price of the goods from the buyer's bank account directly.

I'd invent it all, but I doubt if it would take off.

Wouldn't work because some people always want to go into shops at certain times because that's when they know there'd be bargains about Black Friday Cyber Monday Lightning Deals Email Price drop alerts, Money saving websites, price comparison websites, cashback website, voucher code websites, etc., etc

What I was intending to buy only cost 3 quid, if i buy it online they want £3.50 postage, plus it will take 4 days to arrive.
So no, I dont think that idea will ever catch on.:)
