Just started off my International Kidney in egg boxes as going to grow those once sprouted in big tubs in my unheated greenhouse. I have loads of fleese if the worst comes to the worst and we get a hellish cold snap. @Jack McHammocklashing has given me loads of great advice so I'm expecting a bumper crop of early "Jersey" Potatoes yum. If of course they are a disaster I'll know who to blame:snorky:.

Got a load of potato growing advice and yet another variety at a Potato Day today. The NVS members helping out really knew their stuff.

When chatting spuds the advice is alway to store in a frost free place.

Does this mean as say frost free or above freezing? I have mine in the shed, which would be frostfree, but maybe not above freezing, and nothing seems to have happened with them. I checked them yesterday and they seem softer than they were.

In my thinking frost free is above freezing.;)
Anything at or below 0C is frost level.

Think it's been a bit cold recently to expect much to happen.

Yes! There's even a window in there and it's unheated so I have no idea what's going on with them tbh!

I think all spuds shoot at the same temperature it's down to the time they take to form something worth digging up that categorises them.

I got 2kgs of Maris Peer from wilkos I wanted some Anya but I'm not paying £1 for 5dried out spuds in a box even if it does have Albert Bartlet on it,last year I got 50 anya in thier pick an mix bag for£1.50 ! mind they were good tasting and we're still eating em, but from what iv'e read on here it looks like i'm better of with 2kgs of pinkfir's and 2kgs of charlots that I got from the potato day for £2 a bag! I may put in a row of the anya's ive got left in store and see how they go on.
