So... I ate that entire bag of Chili Bark for nothing!?! :heehee: because yes you are right. They are HOT if eaten straight. Tabasco-ish for sure :wub2: Must be those moon rocks.. :roflol::roflol: It gets nothing but the richest soil to grow in with sun sparkles and night glowing pebbles at three corners of its containment

Alright, none, zero, nil of my first batch chilli seeds sprouted. I blame it all on the seeds.

Then I bought them again on eBay. Guess what? 32 out of 40 sprouted and counting. And eBay price was much better too.

We've just potted up another 3 dozen Shiney Hybrids. 100% germination  They were grown with no extra heat or light. Just stuck in the seed sprouter, under the top cupboard, in the kitchen. They're now on the windowsill in my office.

This is usually the stage at which they seem to be getting nowhere for a long time and then suddenly start growing their second and third set of leaves. :)

Have just found some free Serrano Chilli seeds, which they give out instead of chocolates/mints, from a meal at Wahaca. Trying the weak tea on a paper towel method for sprouting, although I've no idea how old the seeds are and if they will or won't work! Let's see!

@toppington I had them off my sister, so that's the variety.. good to know :) Found some didn't germinate, sowed them again and they took 2 days, so finicky.

Got Anaheim on the go too, they popped up a few days ago. 1p from seed parade :)

Seeing Shiney's Nagas being so prolific with fruit last year, I thought to myself why not use a Naga to augment the Trinidad Moruga Scorpions that I have been growing.

This is the progress so far (TMS + Naga Morich):

The lefthand cup shows the fused rootstock graft union, the righthand cup shows another scorpion plant still bound with a strip of clingfilm.

What did I do with the Naga Morich tops?

I grafted them onto Morrisons bell pepper rootstocks, of course.

The result are proper Chilli Pepper plants.

I don't. I just put them in soil blocks, keep them wet and wait. So far it has worked just fine. :)

@misterQ Those look as though they need potting on. I would put them into a 2 or 3 litre pot at that stage. As Nagas tend to get quite big I would prefer the 3 litre pot. :dbgrtmb:

Sadly, there is no more space on the windowsills to fit bigger pots so the next time they are potted on will be when they are outdoors.

Hopefully, this will be around mid-May.

Is it possible to put a wide piece of wood on the windowsill to make it wider?

Thats what I do . So you can get the the gravel trays onto the windowsill edge ways . Indoor space is always at premium until you can move the plants out.

The chillies have all been doing very well as we have had this warm spell. :blue thumb:

All the ShineyHybrids that were potted on 10 days ago are now covered in flowers. The ones not yet potted on are half the size and only just forming flower buds. Feeding started yesterday.

I've just noticed, when watering them, that a lot of the plants already have chillies on them. :hapydancsmil:
