Oh that programme is nuts! Imagine all those trades tripping over each other. I bet they have to be really careful in editing

One other thing I noticed at the building site was that despite months of heavy footfall, big boy boots, concrete, fires and huge upheaval... I had a single asparagus spear pop out of a flowerbed :) Perfectly timed for my visit and was delicious

Clearly the builders have eaten the other 100 spears when you weren't looking ...

I agree, a good team you have there.

From one hurdle to another. Let's hope there are supplies to be had.

Not looking good Sheal, there's posts all over facebook asking if anyone has bags of plaster! Granted they want tiny quantities but it's indicative... fingers crossed the builders network can come through...

Wish I could help you out there. I have 78 sheets of wallboard in my cellar but being 3,000 miles away, not feasible. I sure hope someone has what you need. :fingers crossed:

Ah, wallboard (presumably the same as what we call pasterboard) isn't an issue as he ordered a bunch of it early on. It's the plaster render to go over it that's in short supply. It will knacker the progress that was going so well.

Fingers crossed they can open up some production facilities in near future as there's going to be a huge backlog

EDIT: There's a bit of potentially good news - A message from Matt Pullen, Managing Director British Gypsum, in relation to Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Aha. We actually call it gypsum drywall and I also have a couple of giant bags of the stuff we call drywall compound/putter for masking the seams. Sorry it is so far away. I would have dropped it off for you!

I have been following some of our N/American families who are drywalling, I’m not a fan of this method no matter how east and fast it is. If you fix anything to a wall you have to find a stud or fix a baton, or risking cracking the drywall.

It's the standard construction method in the UK now, unless it's a load bearing wall obviously. As long as you understand how the wall is constructed and the limitations I have never had an issue with them.
Did have a rental place once and the tenant decided to put up shelves which promptly fell off the wall. He was a ****!

What? Not going into a stud? That must be some cowboys you're watching. I've never heard of that kind of shoddy installation!
