The engineer came back pretty quickly and said as the rest of the existing structure goes to sewer then he's OK with the new part doing the same and (I think) we've agreed that that's what we'll do but the new run-off to go through control valves or rain garden. So it looks as though I now have to find somewhere for that

I like your off duty clothes . That drawing says you have to fall into the sunken garden so you would be better in in a plastic bin liner. :blue thumb:

Given my antics recently I'd like the sift landing if a rain garden!

Oh yes thanks Sheal :) Broken nose will have quite the scar and fractured wrist is still painful but most other items now mended thankfully.

We're down to two choices of builder. Both have comparable(ish) quotes and both are recommended with good levels of workmanship... Decisions decisions...

Ask them what radio station they listen to - use that as the decider. After a month of smooth radio while having the roof done I was sick of 80's ballards

I'd have to have very good hearing as they'll be about 10 miles from where I am :) As long as they do a good job they can listen to thrash metal for all I care!!

And your new neighbours will thank you? I had contractors working on a home two houses away and they were noisy beyond good reason, they came round and kept up the noise on statutory holidays including Canada day and all whilst the new owner was staying blissfully at his old home. So when he moved in, I gave him an earful and told him to watch himself as he'd get no favours from me and I'd report him for any more noise intrusion or the like now that he is present and identifiable. I told him that since he was a nuisance even before moving in, he is, in my opinion, an uncaring, selfish jackass!:paladin: I don't know why he kept backing up as I was speaking to him, but he did apologize.. I guess, being an amazon, I should have talked a little more gently.:heehee:

Anyway, just be careful there @Loofah ! You don't want to move in on a sour note ;)
