That would make "wild" garlic, surely.

That reminds me - I planted a small bag of proper woodland wild garlic bulbs last autumn which seems to have gone awol.

In the mean time, from three to a small pile of runner beans.

Any tips for reducing pea moth, please? A few of us on site have it.. :/

I read the moths lay eggs in the flowers and that's how the grubby things end up inside the pod. A few of us have started again so I don't know if these ones will be affected.. but it'll be handy to know any tips for next year too.

            Excellent cropping Snorky :)

Just a veg patch here but I am on the list for an allotment. When it happens the veg patch will become a pool. (Mind you, it is nice to just pop outside and pick fresh veg and fruit:noidea:)

What does your cucumber taste like misterQ?

Picked young (as in picture), the flesh is crunchy and sweet. The skin is slightly tougher than, say, on LA Diva cucumbers.

Genetically, many cauliflowers tend toward purple, red or blue pigments. Cauliflower is a cool weather vegetable and when a lot of sunlight and heat hits the developing heads they can display a purplish tinge along the edges of the heads.

Its perfectly safe to eat either raw or cooked, although the flavor may be subtly different from the familiar white variety. When you cook the cauliflower, the purple tinge turns gray—not the most appetizing hue—particularly when the cooking water is hard or has an alkaline pH. A bit of vinegar added to the water minimizes the color change.

:sign0016: @Stephen George . That is an ornamental plant, not a veggie but the name slips my mind at the moment. Skunk cabbage or something seems to ring a bell.
