Things that make me smile!

As a novice at this gardening malarkey how cool it was last night to just have a look at my first set of cuttings that I have tried to see a few white roots emerging from the bottom of the pot. They were taken from a carnation we bought at the local fete which produced beautiful pink blooms so how exciting to see new generations developing from a simple cutting! I really expected them to fail but there they are still going. Simple things!!

They are not dead yet, so i'm holding out hope

 

i never thought to try carnation cuttings,im trying my luck with allsorts not knowing what im doing honey suckle,lilac tree,fucshia cuttings,ferns, and a lavatera i bought this yr ..its hard being a novice but u live n learn x il see how they survive the winter

 

It really is great to see your work developing....and knowing what it will unleash in the summer! It gives me something to cling onto during winter too
