i find carr farm now overpriced and with very little choice, and the quality isnt very good, they seem to have concentrated on the retail and concessions now to the detriment of the plants.

the garden house in neston i very good, very good quality and concentrates on just the plants, no fancy coffee shops, no selling cups and saucers or brollies or smelly oil burners. an old fashioned nursery.

i think if i ask Ade from the garden house Stephen, i'm sure he'll try his best to get stuff in that he normally doesnt stock.

Is The Garden House the one on the A540 main road just off the turn-off to Parkgate? If so I might know the one you mean. I know what you mean about overpricing.. that's rife with places like Gordale, but they do, arguably have the best Houseplant section of anywhere I've been (albeit hideously expensive like you say).

ps I like a Garden centre with a coffee shop, it's a good excuse to stay just that little bit longer.. but I think I need counselling

Another place you cant beat for availability of stock is Premier Plants in ledsham.. only issue their bedding stock is limited in terms of broadness.

I cram as many as I can get in without them fighting one another at the time of planting up,

It's the one about 100 yards opposite the wright car centre and heatherland. Never been to premier, but thanks, that's on my visit list now! :)
