    Same costs up here Joolz

Funnily enough I was just thinking of this a couple of weeks ago
My parents were not well off, just a manual working Dad and a housewife Mum
    We got everything New
School clothes, including burberry and cap, shoes boots sandshoes football boots, gym kit, and the biggest waste when I came home and advised them I had to have a track suit (wore it thrice) and this Twice a year, winter, great coat instead of raincoat
boots instead of shoes, Then Easter it was Khaki shorts, sandals and stockings

I only realised about six years ago, fifty years later that it was all done, with debt and hard work
We, Brother and I always got the school photo, both each and again the class photo each and prices were the same then as retrospectivley now

I still look at the old school class photos and can still name most of the class and it brings memories of what we did together
Then there was the take a penny a day to school to buy a picture of some orfan, or 3d for a scented calendar for your Mum, and poppy days

We only had the one school trip, in your last year, when we went to some local landmark about thirty miles away, still cost a fortune, and you had to take pocket money with you

It is even more expensive now, but I feel so sad that they struggled to give my brother and I all that was asked
