We've a lot of wild bluebells growing in our garden, totally uncontrolled. But we don't mind that. I've spent a lot of time today removing the leaves now that the blooms have faded, as they go very slimey, look naff and inhibit the growth of other plants.
The azaleas and wisterias are fading and the roses are still mostly in bud. So not much to show.

The big acer in the front garden is now at its best.

This ceanothus will soon drop its blooms into the koi pool, but it does provide the fish with some shade.

The first of our three albertine roses has flowered. We've three, we like the flowers and the glossy leaves.

This is Gertrude Jekyll. Isn't she lovely? I wish we had smellavision. The perfume would knock you sideways. She lives at my back door.

    I've had a productive weekend.

I recently acquired two gooseberry bushes and didn't really know where to plant them!:( I then had the brainwave of creating three more small beds using some Victorian path edgings that I was given 24 years or so ago. I didn't even own a house back then, but knew that they would come in handy one day, and they have since moved house to house with me. Making the beds, has also balanced the path width that had been bugging me at that point.

I'm going to put an obelisk in the centre one and then plant a climbing rose which I shall underplant with lavender. It may be a veg plot, but who says that you can't have some colour!!

I also laid some bricks around the perimeter for my 'free' lorry body front to sit on. I then concreted the inside with a very slight fall to allow water to escape. The next stage is to make some shelving, and possibly some doors, although the jury is out on that one.

    Looking good Eddie!

It's been a bit frustrating this week-end as the "green bin" is full of all the next-door's creeper I removed from my side of a couple of fence panels. Still, the fortnightly collection is due tomorrow, so I'll be able to tackle some more in the week.
I've a couple of new panels ready I can put in, if the fence "doesn't survive the operation."

    Everything looks so good :gnthb:.

I'm never sure whether to post picture here or on 'Camera in my pocket' or What's looking good'. So I've decided to put some here. :D

I took these yesterday in our frosty garden. We had only a little snow last week and it disappeared over the weekend.
