I'm happy for you that it germinated so quickly!

I've still got a couple of the tomatoes drying in the kitchen. I'll not be sowing any seeds for the next 4 months at least! Not just because of the colder weather but also because I just don't have any space where I can put them. The kitchen windowsill, (even though it 3m (10ft) long) is full of pots till at least May! The shelving below the window is also full of plants! The 2 bedroom windows likewise! There are no window sills in the living room nor any shelving below the windows.

I'm lucky in that now the children have cleared off, I have the South-facing windowsills of two spare bedrooms at my disposal.

@eatenbyweasels Hope they grow well for you! It'll be interesting to see when they fruit for you! Luckily tomatoes can be fertilized just by a gentle tapping on the trusses! No need for pollinating insects!

Oh, once they're flowering I'll just give 'em a good flick with my hand in passing. It'll be character-building for them.

After saying last year I would be more considered in which varieties to grow I have ignored myself and bought some more new ones without checking if they're early, middling or late fruiting

Yes, they're in my heated propagator under a grow light.

Are there any tomato seed swappers on GC? And, if not, why not?

Hello tomato seed collectors. Although I have grown tomatoes for many years, I am new to this hobby of collecting rare and cherished varieties. Coming too late for the autumn seed swaps on other sites, I’m trying to get a few varieties together to catch up a bit. If anyone has any of these varieties for sale or to swap, I’d be very pleased to hear from you. Thanks, in anticipation.

Some of the varieties I'm looking to swap or buy are:

                      Select

                      Abu Rawan

                      Bella Rosa

                      Big Beef VVF

                      White Tomesol

                      Chef’s Choice – any colour

                      Cherokee Carbon

                      Beauty King

                      Aunt Rubies German Green

                      Black Krim

                      Raskoje Naslazchdenie

                      Soldacki

                      Bears Claw

                      Aruija-Zabava

                      Awesome Emma

                      Chilo Della Garfagnana

                      Dester

                      Orange Banana

                      Stupice

                      Believe It Or Not

                      Chef’s Choice (any colour)

If you are interested please PM me so we can sort things the way you wish.

                      Many thanks,

@Glynne Williams, I received seeds in the post today, of a variety for which the grower (in Wales) claims good blight resistance. Remembering your problems with blight last year, I'd be happy to send a few on for you to try. Screenshot_20240118-192658.png PXL_20240118_185956737~3.jpg
