    Hi tomato crew
I study the catalogue , look on here then choose the variety , sow the seeds , fresh compost sterile , in the propagator. Mist them check them ..

Then I go in the greenhouse today and spot 3 growing in the gravel on the floor.

I will pot on see what they are like

PXL_20250427_182951011~2.jpg I've moved my comfy chair back into the conservatory for the summer. I can almost hear my jungle growing around me.

Planted my greenhouse tomatoes today, have two 1c nights forecast so I also covered them with fleece for a bit of extra protection. I have 8 in the 6x8
I also have a load of blight resistant ones to grow outside, they can go out in a couple of weeks. I will repot them soon.

Despite growing tomatoes for about 5 years, my mind has gone blank :rolleyespink:
What size do the plants need to be before I plant them in their final large pots? They have been potted on twice so far and are now about 25 cm tall?

I would wait till they start flowering. Keeping them restricted in a smaller pot will encourage flowering (if you plant them too early in a big pot they will grow excessive leaves at the expense of fruit)

The other factor is the weather, I'm keeping mine in smaller pots for the time being as we may still get frosts. It's easier to bring them indoors overnight. Even cold nights will set them back, so I wait a bit longer maybe another week or two, but your location may be milder.

Me too, I don't plant out outside yet. There will be cold nights for entire week ahead. Maybe, next weekend...
Today's photos, I decided to mulch with straw in the greenhouse (can even see plants now :) ). And started bringing out plants that will grow outside for hardening off.

Mine are enjoying the sunshine outside each day then brought inside each evening. I'm keeping a close eye on night-time temperatures before thinking about planting.

Thanks @JWK I’ll leave it for a bit then, I didn’t realise that keeping them in a smaller pot would promote flowering so thanks for that info! They’ve been in the greenhouse for weeks already, but apart from a few nights where I cover them in bubble wrap, it is quite mild here.
