That fish pie looks great Al. I think I will do some butternut and pepper soup in a bit.

There are only 3 of us, but I have done 4 fish pies, guess who the spare ones for?? Lol.

The stew is only for myself and our 3 year old, the wifey is on a detox from next week, soooooooo, nom noms for us.

I love winter warming food, so comforting. As I'm watching my ahem, waistline, there is no butter in the fish pie! :snork:

The beef rendang sounds yum too, your own recipe?

Rusty, I love soups, can't beat homemade, my fave is mushroom, although the wife'y likes my carrot and coriander.

Al, they look absolutley mouth watering - this afternoon I made a pot of Butternut squash soup with ricotta dumplings. I never choose soup when I go out for a meal but love homemade soup much more appetising.

                  Here's the recipe ( if anyone's interested?)

Any beef, I'm using beef skirt.
                  Courgettes
                  Carrots
                  Red onion
                  Potatoes
                  Peas
                  Green beans
                  Thyme
                  Rosemary
                  Basil
                  Garlic
                  Mushrooms
                  Cherry tomatoes
                  Beef stock cube
                  Black pepper
                  Sea salt
                  Whole bottle of red wine
                  3 bay leaves

                  Dumplings of your choice

Whack it in a casserole dish or slow cooker. Cook on high for 1 hour, then turn down and cook on low for another 4 hours. It will reduce and thicken to a lovely sauce. If need be, add cornflower or a small amount of thickening agent. Enjoy with lovely warm crusty bread. Noms........ :dbgrtmb:
