Hi I changed my mobile supplier in January, I had a Nokia ???, operating on Windows platform, tried for 6 months could not get on with it, whilst browsing one day I noticed Tosco were offering a nice Android Motorola ??, same tarriff, so contacted them and arranged upgrade, £38 early upgrade fee, but decided to go with it as just did not like the Windows set up.
Phone arrives, happy bunny simple to migrate everything, very good, in the box was a flyer, register your phone and get a £20 gift card, half my money back, did all that was required , several emails to say processing, then get an email asking me to register, I responded already have, another email confirm IMEI No, did all that , okay thanks you will receive your gift card in due course.
After a month it drifted back into my mind so sent an email, where`s my card, huge demand was response, we will get to it soon, another few weeks, decided to rattle the cage again. Similar response, THEN, yesterday post arrives open first letter, oh my Tosco gift card, open second letter, another gift card, so I have 2 I assume £20 gift cards, which means they have paid me £2 to early upgrade, moral dilemma, do I keep stum, or let them know.

      I see 2 choices:

      1) Keep both giftcards on the basis that it's compensation for all the hassle and delays already experienced, and bearing in mind that Tesco will be making profit on the 2nd card so it wont actually cost them the full £20.

      2) Waste a load more of both parties time, money on telephone calls, postage, etc., subect to receiving a £10 - £15 Tesco card back for all the time and money wasted in sorting things out for them.

Personally, I'd go for the easiest, most hassle free of the above options.

P.S. A 3rd option, a variant of 2, is use the 2nd card to buy some stuff and donate to charity.

@pamsdish, keep it & buy yourself a lovely bottle of wine, let's call it compensation for the hassle you've had. :dbgrtmb:
I have to just add I think this is a great result! :snork: Tesco would rob us all & do if you can get a little something from them it can only be a good thing :dancy:

Just spend the Gift cards and stopping losing sleep over it.Life is far to short to worry about their mistake. If it is a gift card to spend in their shops then you are likely to end up spending more anyway so for them it is a win win situation:biggrin: You will find that most shops have already figured those sorts of losses into their profit margins and places like Tescos must be making a fortune from the shoppers if they can afford to keep building more and more of these stores and sometimes the mothball them without even opening them:frown:

I must be the biggest thief on the planet because I have occasionally picked blackberries from the hedgerow of a farmers field or picked a couple of mushrooms as I have walked across his field.By rights I should of asked the farmers permission to take those items after all the hedge and grass field belongs to him not me.or how many people have collected the odd piece of fallen branches for their wood burning fires.I wonder how many of us have actually helped ourselves to this harvest without a second thought that it could be stealing.I am sure that even the travelling community have helped themselves to this free bounty from time to time:snork:

This is just my thoughts on the matter and there is no intention to upset anyone with my comments

That`s a good idea, there is a local food bank with a donation point in Tosco, I will items buy with their gift card, so they will get their own profits.

If you opted for that, and you had a say a conditional spend voucher, plus bought a 'Try me free' item you'd also get something back for yourself, and don't forget to use as many of your own carrier bags as possible, plus get stuff using CC mailing points vouchers, etc.

Screw the supermarkets for every penny you can.
They do the same to us with their dodgy money off bargains.

              They also screw their suppliers.

They can afford it, and if its their mistake so much the better.

We have been using our own bags in Wales for quite a few years @Scrungee, we don`t get green points, will browse the site see what they got, I also have a voucher expiring end of the month, so will be looking to add it to a double up value and get something useful.

I fogot about that, despite shopping at a Tesco in Wales a couple of months ago and finding that they had security tagged all their hand baskets to prevent people using them to take their shopping home and avoid paying for carrier bags.
