Unless we move house which is very unlikely. The back garden is paved due to this area having heavy clay subsoil so lawns get waterlogged. Eveything is in containers .My Phoenix C. needs a bigger container but finding one is difficult. A problem with containerised plants! Got a few years left to enjoy them. [IMG]

What you need is to move to a cheaper part of the country, and you'd have an enormous house and garden, with loads of space for a giant greenhouse - then no problems!! [IMG]

Well thanks for your replies Dendy and strongy, but I'm still not sure, hope rossco is still thinking, its a mystery thats gone on a long time, if only I could have a word with whoever planted up those tubs at Kew last summer.
Its still a mystery to me, but I would like to get some more seed and grow it again. The fact that Kew were using it suggests its good as summer bedding in the UK if nothing else.

I've printed off the photos and original post, Pete, and am sending it to someone I know who teaches at Kew, and see if he can come up with anything. Don't hold your breath!! But it's worth a try ;)
