Trees growing on themselves

    Another good rooter is Balsam poplar, infact I think most poplars root fairly easily.
    A Balsam Poplar fell a few years ago in the park, its now a small forest of plants all coming from the old trunk.

    Yesterday while out and about, I came across what I think is a very, very mature Scots Pine. In the junction between two of its massive branches there was a baby oak tree growing. That will produce an interesting result in a century or so.
