For the first one I'd like to know both what it is and whether the birds will have any interest in those seed-like things growing on it. If not I'll consider pulling it, although it does look good. It's actually growing in a place I deemed impossible to grow on. I started digging a pit there (don't ask why) but I hit rock only a few inches down. Second one will be pulled no matter what unfortunately, it's next to the fence. I have one at the back of the garden too but I couldn't find when I wanted its picture. I think it's shy. Thanks a lot!
2. Definitely Acer. http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=Ac...&ndsp=10&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:33&biw=1270&bih=501 But looks more like Acer pseudoplatanus. Common name Sycamore. Or Acer platanoides. Norway maple.
The first one I am sure is unripe Finger Millet, this is it ripe.. The birds will love the seeds from it... :D
