Unknown seedling

I found this evergreen growing near a treetrunk last spring so I potted it up and forgot about it. Eight months of neglect later it looks like this - which is nothing like anything in my garden or what I can see of next door. Suggestions please?

 

Opposite leaves...might it be Fuchsia?

 

I thought fuschia last night, but thought no, can't be.

 

It does look very much like a fuschia.
The only other option that springs to mind is some sort of lonicera

 

Thank you all. I always thought of hardy Fuschia as losing leaves in winter so I hadn't considered that. I put any smaller pots on the floor of my unheated greenhouse in winter to save them from blowing over or drowning. Maybe it is more protected in there than I thought!
I have no idea where it's seed came from so I don't know what type to expect. Should I plant it out in spring? or give it longer in a pot before expecting it to survive in the jungle? or guess it would prefer to be a bedding plant in a hanging basket? Decisions, decisions.

 

Fuschia can produce attractive (?) fruity berries likely to appeal to birds so could have arrived by air. There are in excess of 9000 cultivars so it may be worth growing on just to see.

 

Nine thousand! Ri-ight. Well, we'll see what it does this year...
