In my shed I have an unopened bag of ericaceous compost and a bulb compost.
Can I spread them onto my flowerbeds? or is it not a good idea? ;)

Yes - no problem. The ericaceous compost will be a bit acid but will not have much effect on a border. All organic matter is good for the soil.
