    Hello

We have a pieris in a pot which has been there for ages and is rather woody. Its buds have gone black and it is covered in tiny black spots on the foliage. I've taken it out of its pot (totally root bound and covered with termites), soaked the ball in a bucket of water, teased out the roots and replanted. Remembered too late that it should have had ericaceous and not multipurpose....

So - what now, watch and wait? Use ericaceous feed? Sing something from one of the shows?

Apologies for autocorrect - I can't seem to change the title to Pieris. We'll have to call him Piers.

        Termites? whereabouts are you?
I'd get some ericaceous ASAP, remove from pot, remove as much compost as possible and replant in fresh ericaceous.

Instead of removing the soil, imo, I would add sulphate of iron to acidify the soil in the pot, its cheaper and quicker, the chances are, its been in the pot so long, the soil acidity levels were more neutral, follow the instructions on the manufacurers guidelines exactly.
