    Its a bit mean, but not really surprising.

    I think anyone who preaches a cause too loudly knows they are going to rub people up the wrong the way.

    I once had a rather heated debate with a vegetarian colleague (who I generally got on with). He was proclaiming the evils of using leather just for fashion. I suggested to him that if we all wore shoes made entirely out of synthetic materials, we'd need more chemical plants to make the plastics, those chemical plants would need to be built somewhere, taking land away from nature, they'd consume vast amounts of natural resources etc etc. You'd think I'd just personally insulted his mother, he went ballistic. I thought I had a fair point:)
