I picked 2lb more beans yesterday evening and have orders for over 20lb before the weekend. :rolleyespink:

I also sold 6lb of rhubarb yesterday. :blue thumb:

Next to the veg plot are the fruit trees and the golden plums are almost ripe and some of the apples are colouring up. :hapydancsmil: Blackberries still very slow.

Just a disaster in my raised bed, it's my first time growing veg, a fox decided to have a party and everything got trampled [IMG].
I don't want to give up so what's good to grow from now? I had started some beetroot so I could put that in. Just want to get something in so my summer isn't a complete waste of time. Was growing cabbage, broccoli & courgettes. Don't mind giving courgettes another go but it is too late? Any ideas would be welcome?
          Thank you in advance :)

I would suggest getting plants from a garden centre @Rayla for spring greens, winter cauliflower maybe. It's a bit late to start those from seed. I think it's too late for courgettes but you might find bigger plants in the garden centre too.

I think we are looking mainly at planting winter/spring brassicas: savoy/spring cabbages, spring caulis, spring greens, calabrese and kale. You can sow turnip now and time for a quick crop of salad leaves: lettuce, rocket & spinach & maybe radish.

                Thanks for your suggestions :).
I'm off the the garden centre today and see what they have, plus pick up some salad seeds.
Hopefully I'll get something to enjoy :dbgrtmb:

I'll be sowing 'offenham 2' spring greens in the coming days. They did well last year.. (Very nice veg in Feb/March/April)
When you've harvested them the bed can be prepared for next years crops.

Some are going over 24", but I have some nice straight younger ones that are 21 to 22" long and hoping might get to 30".

I've marked all the best plants, not only for seed saving, but to lift the roots and try and overwinter them for replanting next year.

I overwintered runner bean roots years ago just as an experiment.
Just treated the roots similar to Dahlias and they regrew with multiple shoots the next spring.

My potted aubergine has ten plus fruit and the garden plants average about two each, they were all planted the same day.
