Viburnum

Hello, flower power, and welcome to GC! For some reason I cannot respond to you in your thread so I have started again.

I love my Viburnum tinus and it certainly grew very quickly for me. I have mine trimmed in the shape of a Christmas tree and have to constantly trim it as it sends off new shoots and is blooming at the same time! Best of all it is an evergreen.

Perhaps other members may be able to suggest something different for you as well.

Is anyone else weeding this month? I thought I would catch the weeds while they are half asleep. It seems a lot easier than weeding in autumn or spring as they are pretty dead

 

:eek: crowley, I thought you had to weed every month ... no, no, every week. Weeds are strange plants, they germinate and grow quicker than any flowers I have encountered ... be it in the UK or here. :eek:

 

Trouble is getting them out with the roots intact, Crowley - I can't here, although they're still growing :( It's clay here and sticks like mad. It would probably be a waste of time.

 

I always tidy the garden up in the spring because taking away dead wood and stuff will be disturbing the hibernating insects ie. lady birds etc.and they will end up on the compost heap.

 

i like to do a good spring clean out too it is tempting some off the more milder days to have a weed out but as everyone is saying ground is too wet and sticky yet
