Looking on other forums, folk have started them off in october for planting out in spring, but we've come into this a bit late so a january start will have to do, time we get organised & all.

1st Jan 2011 sounds good to me.

I'd best go and read up how to grow them now!

Grew a few of these in the past. Not hugely successful.

Just to get my excuses in early, I may or may not be moving house during winter / spring, so am immediately at a disadvantage. Probably adds 3 foot to my eventual score, actually, agreed all?

    :lollol:

No chance, you just keep it in a pot like the rest of us. :D

Seriously though, I hope it all goes well & that you get a bigger garden if you do have to move.

Welcome on board to the competition though.

We gonna have to think about a trophy next.

:) How about a virtual trophy, say a golden trowel which the winner gets pinned to their signature, with the year underneath ?

& silver & bronze trowels for second & third ?

How are we going to let all the other members who only lurk in the sub forums know about this ? And are spybots allowed to enter ?
