    You forgot the bit about how the virtual prize (whatever it turns out to be) is not just for you but for everyone else on the forum as well, even the trolls who just want to post rude things or the people who want to sell recreational drugs disguised as fertilizer, God bless 'em. Because *voice starts to quiver and tears well up* this forum is a family, one which ... (stampede for sick buckets drowns out remainder).

      I was going to do the whole Kate Winslett gusher but after mentioning Kim Wilde and Charlie Dimmocks I kind of lost the plot ... :heehee:

              With slight modification it could come in very useful, should John wish to become a gondolier. In its raw state, it would make a very nice pole for punting on the Cam.

                  I've decided to withdraw from the next part of the competition (only really intended to go in for the first part :heehee:).

                  There are a number of reasons.

                  Mine are now completely covered in whitefly and I don't want them to migrate to the greenhouse and, as I don't use insecticides I shall dig them up and put them on the bonfire.

                  Even if I didn't have that reason I can't see me attempting to carve a walking stick. For that you need at least two things:- tools and a certain amount of skill. I have neither :heehee:. Apart from my gardening tools my tool kit consists of a drill, a 50+ year old multi-purpose saw (used once), a hammer, a pair of pliers and two screwdrivers.

                  Good luck to all of you that compete. :dbgrtmb:

                  You're withdrawing your big stick?:OUCH::heehee:

                  Fair enough Shiney, mine has not got much of a crook to it so I might turn it into an obscure Babylonian window box implement instead.

                  Shiney, I think you will find cabbage white fly is a different species to glasshouse white fly.

                    I've re-staked them and fingers crossed they will recover if the pigeons leave them alone. The biggest is over 10 ft now :thumbsup:
