We watched Brighton Rock over the weekend. It's the second film adaptation of the Graham Greene novel and it has been moved forward thirty years so that it is set in the Mods and Rockers era. Sam Riley is superb as Pinkie and the rest of the cast are good as well. Well worth watching.

Despite having all the Home Cinema Audio gear....that only hubs knows how to work!! I still think you can't beat going to the cinema. These days the sound system is so amazing and the seats are so comfy with loads of leg room.
Hubs has never been one to go to the cinema so I go very regularly with friends during the day.
We don't go for serious films just easy viewing with a lighter side to make us giggle.:heehee:
Recently seen films...if I can remember include..
Mamma Mia, Johnny English Strikes Again, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Favourite, Can You Ever Forgive Me, Dumbo, Little, Instant Family....all were great !!

Loads more on my list to see soon!!

We saw The Greatest Showman for free at a local church. Through the winter they show a film on a Saturday evening. Entry and refreshments are free. It was a good spectacle but historically inaccurate.

I don't understand why the songs were released using different singers. Was this some contractual thing? It seems a bit strange to me.

We're off to see Eighth Grade in a couple of weeks when she's next back - I'm looking forward to that one.

Enjoyed two cinema trips last week, Red Joan and All Is True.Thought that I would find Red Joan a bit too serious but was pleasantly surprised. All is true was based on the final years of Shakespeare's life and his struggle to reconnect with his family. Very good.
Today Rocketman was released and I went to see it, a very interesting insight to the struggles and demons that Elton John had to overcome to gain the success and happy family life he yearned for. Very moving.

Recently seen Aladdin and Yesterday both good but Yesterday brought back memories of my carefree teenage years!! :heehee:

Going to see Tolkien this week and then hopefully the new Spider-Man film with our youngest who'll be down for the weekend. He worked on it and I get to know and see exactly which bits are his...also must admit to feeling proud seeing his name scroll down too ;)
