Any ideas where I can get a decent one?
I've been looking around and I seem to have a choice of one, a pretty poor one at that, they want around 8 quid for a thin plastic job that looks like it will go brittle in a year or two, in fact the plastic looks rubbish.
I dont want a metal one.

I've got some plastic ones that I've had for years, stood out in all weathers, one is at least 20 yrs old and still ok.

I don't mind paying a decent price, but the ones I've looked at are rubbish.
I just want to buy one, dont really want to mess around online.

I'm not keen on metal ones, the galvanize rubs off round the bottom and they go rusty.
I've go some smaller Haws ones I use for pot plants in the greenhouse, but they dont hold much, plastic but very good quality plastic.

Really looking for something similar around 2 gallons.
Cant see anything around here, all just sell rubbish, you can see right through them if you hold them up to the light and feel fairly brittle.

I have just bought that very watering can from Amazon, and to be fair it is absolutely fine for a few quid.

Aye, seven quid or so - two gallons, comes with a rose and is light enough to handle. I am not expecting it to last more than a year or two, but to be honest at that money I don't really care.

I have 2 different largish Haws ones that I bought a couple of months apart but some years ago . The cheaper one has a plastic end to the spout, but is starting to split slightly around the top opening. The better one is definitely a heavier plastic and has a brass end to the spout, so it is more robust. It is well worth the (not much) extra it cost. I previously had a metal watering can and it was just too heavy.

We have the Haws ones too. Agree that the brass end to the spout is better although I don't use the rose too often. Weve hade one for a good 10 years and its still going strong

I dislike those watering cans with the top handle "fixed". I buy the metal/galv ones with the hinges top handle because they are so easy to maneuver and when you're carrying them, tney always stay level... hiccup...okay just joking about wobbly.

I buy a new one every year or so for about £10 and tney last me ablut 5 hears. I store them dry over the winter and I remove tnat sprinkly spout. I always water at the soil level so only set it aside for those times I want to rinse something with a shower effect. At the moment I have 4 of them. They only hold 1.5 gallons of water so they are easy to use/raise up over shoulder height.

And they are also just the right size to bring water to my foot operated clothes washer. I fill two with warm water, one for wash and the other one rinse. And that hinged handle comes in handy. Kinda like a controlled dumper. :)

I know you don't like metal but it mostly get reused and maybe comes back as a spigot :)

Gardman usually make pretty good stuff. I have had a Gardman 7.5 litre watering can for over 10 years now.
