I've been given a roll end of some weed membrane, and have cut it up into several pieces ready to use.

Its the interwoven type of membrane (lots of strands) and I can see that over time and with use it will fray fairly badly.

Does anyone know of a good way to seal these cut edges to stop or limit this fraying?

    Many thanks!

    Steve...:)

Have you got a pair of hair straighteners? If its plastic based maybe you could melt the edges.

Fold the raw edges over double and peg them down, or use an old Singer sewing machine to hem them (that's how I do it).

Try holding a lighter near to the strands & hopefully they will melt together..

Steady, remember what happened when you told Aesculus that was the best way to tidy up his Cephalocereus senilis?
