I caught some of the Novichok inquiry's report this evening and I see Dawn Sturgess's family think the state should do more to protect people like her from accidental exposure. What do they want signs at airports and railway station saying please dispose of your waste nerve agents safely.

And no conclusions either other than what was was suspected at the time. As for the safe disposal of your waste nerve agents, local councils will be providing another bin to every household. This one will be Red with a label stating "Do not Touch". Not clear yet as to whether this instruction will also apply to the rubbish collectors.

I accept that the comments made by Kelly Osbourne can be considered OTT, but she is a woman still mourning the death of her father, and speaking after a posthumous award to him. Maybe a time to cut her a little slack?

The best I can manage by way of "slack cutting" is to refrain from commenting further, @KT53. ;)

Meanwhile, on a more important topic, Germany bringing in voluntary military service is a worrying development. No young person should be asked to risk their life because another country is run by a warmongering dictator. If these despot leaders want wars, could they not content themselves with drone battles over desert areas?

Just saw a new flash that Canada is so hard up for money they are not delivering mail to folks houses anymore. True or not, who knows. Or maybe just one area. Interesting.

Well, it gets round facial recognition ... so unless the rubbish accidentally contains the receipt for the costume, he (I'd put money on the perp being male) will probably get away with it.

Dont we still have the Territorials, they were always the back up and reserve.

I dont think many would want to do training over here unless the money was good.

They were delivering a couple of weeks ago in Toronto. Perhaps @CanadianLori may be able to confirm or otherwise .

I don't think anyone objects to Ms. Osbourne mourning the death of her father or her belief that he had an impact, which he obviously did, on the music scene in his lifetime. I think it was just the use of "indelible" which led to the discussion.

Plenty of Russian and Ukranian nationals exiting their countries because they do not want to be conscripted. Who can blame them ? Mr. Putin often wears camouflage gear when he visits his troops but hasn't yet opted to fight on the front line. Same goes for many others.

The postal service is doing "rotating" strikes. I'm not sure where though as it hasn't affected anything around here. We are transferring more of our mail delivery to boxes. Mine has been delivered to the set of boxes across the street for over 40 years now. It is about 75 meters from my front door.
I don't find it an inconvenience and I also think that we could reduce even those deliveries to a couple of days a week.

Canada is not broke. The stupid man heading up our southern neighbour has been attempting to break us for the last year and would like that because in my opinion, he is evil.

The U.S. has come to us to get their armed vehicles to continue their ICE campaign. I guess they can't do it all :heehee:

Did you see the stupid display for the FIFA draw. There was our prime minister along with Trump and the Mexican leader all looking like they were playing a game of jeopardy! How undignified! :rolleyespink:

I didn't know about that kind of mail delivery @CanadianLori I'm pretty sure we will be heading to something similar soon, 75% of what I get through the mail could really just be delivered to the rubbish bin, it's a waste on time and energy them putting it in my door.

I find our mail delivery is excellent. We have at least five deliveries a week with only a small percentage of junk mail. We don't have to take to a post box any mail we want to send as we just put it in the outside of our letterbox and the postman takes it. Even for packages we now send them Royal Mail 48 where they come and pick them up within 24 hours.
