So in that case the UK could snatch Trump off his golf course and then lock him in the Tower of London and keep him incommunicado and deny all knowledge of it.
Oh I agree that the other way isn't necessarily good either - but perhaps that is an angle that those in the US are taking? Whilst we faff around with sanctions and coalitions of the willing etc, they are just going in heavy and sorting stuff out. Perhaps they also see the writing more clearly on the wall... the world has rapidly evolved around us, especially looking at the likes of China, so perhaps there is a realisation that it is going to take hard actions to avoid being effectively destroyed whilst sat about wringing our hands.
They could - if they were of the mind to do so. Knowing the UK, we'd probably give him citizenship and let him play with the nuclear buttons from his new council house.
Not saying for one minute I agree with the way it has been done by the way - but maybe, just maybe, it is the way that it had to be done (or things are going to have to be done in future) as we've made some pretty monumentally stupid decisions in recent years, especially relating to China. Living in the huggy-wuggy world where everyone is everyone else's friend seems a fantastic concept, but the reality is that there are forces operating in much of the world that don't and won't ever play by the rules.
Of course it was. Hell, it was a "gain of function" thing in the first place - in other words, modify a virus to make it into a biological weapon. If you recall, not long before that, there was a lot of talk about China's involvement in global comms technologies and how some countries wanted to cut them out of it (Huawei being one of the bigger names involved) - convince me that wasn't some sort of warning shot? And since then, we've disappeared down a hole of "net zero" that ultimately benefits only China in terms of production - - hell, even the buses on our streets have Chinese running gear that can quite literally be killed remotely by China if they so choose. How stupid is that?
So if Trump's next move was to ban other political parties in the USA because they get in the way of him 'getting stuff done' that would be OK too would it? You certainly seem to be suggesting that anything which gets in his way should be removed, by any means of his choosing.
Trump is looking to make Greenland a USA state. Everything he does is all about oil and mineral acquisitions and nothing to do with Human Rights.
Now where did I say that? What I said was that the current methods we are using and tying ourselves up in various legal knots aren't working, especially with those who fall on the side of corruption etc. Do you really think that the likes of China or Russia give two hoots about what international law says they should be doing? Clearly they don't. Perhaps the entire world needs to take a look at how it does stuff and start looking after it's own a bit more - or, we can continue to navel gaze, wring our hands and end up under the control of Xi Jingping before we know it
