Someone buys a house near a church but doesn't realise it has bells despite the obvious bell tower and so complains about the noise. This results in when bells can ring being curtailed or even cancelled.
Having achieved their goal, that person then moves to a house close to a farm A cow in the nearby field happens to peer into their garden whilst they are sunbathing ..........person claims the cow is stalking them and demands the farmer gets rid of it...........that results in cow complaining to local council about anti cattle behaviour by incomers
1st is true and it probably won't be long before the 2nd ( or something similar ) also becomes a common occurence.

Just as the last couple of times Trump says negotiations going well, making progress and such like. The morning we wake up to news of US/Israeli raids on Iran and the talks have ended with a bang.
Once his Secretary of War tells him they're ready to go then the talks will again come to an abrupt end.

A number of years ago (almost 20, frighteningly) I was dragged into a case where someone bought a house on a bus route that we operated - bulk of it's operation was single deck, but four double decks were used as they also covered school bus journeys, although they remained out all day. Occasionally, if we were short of single decks, we'd plop doubles on the route, because we knew there was no physical restriction for them not to be used.

This new resident, with bus stop outside his property, complained bitterly whenever there were double decks, arguing that they were so heavy they would thump over bumps and shake his house... yet single decks weren't an issue. Around the same time, we got 5 of the early hybrid prototypes to test, which had massive batteries on the roof, and they were plonked onto this route.

After many months of back and forth via letters/emails etc, I agreed to do a site visit and meet this chap to hear his concerns, and during the conversation he reiterated that it wasn't the height of the bus that bothered him, but rather the weight as they banged and made his house shake - I asked what he thought of the new hybrid buses with the big batteries on the roof as they were only about 18-inches or so shy of a double-deck in terms of height - - not a problem with those, he confirmed. One of them arrived whilst we were stood there, so I introduced him to the legal lettering that all PCV's must have, part of which is the unladen weight of the vehicle - - I then explained that a double deck was almost 4-tons more than a standard single deck, these new hybrids were around only 150kg less than the weight of a double deck thanks to the batteries, so I was therefore perplexed as to why the issue was showing with double decks and not the hybrids.... funnily enough, we never heard from him again.

Whilst I wouldn't pretend to know the ins and out of the different types of bus, we do have both single and double deckers thru the village on a regular basis - HPC 2, school and community buses. Narrow road and this house is on a sharp bend, no pavement and with about 6 inches to spare between house and road. I don't envy the bus drivers as they have to negotiate a narrow road which is often full of cars parked either side once the pass our house. Far worse for us are the vroom vroom lot on motor bikes and in cars who regularly speed up and down, back firing and revving away like total idiots. Heaven knows how they pass an MOT ( or even a driving test ). Speed warning signs are becoming popular but no limits on noise. Noise from buses are the least of the problems I think. Give me a Cow any day
